Delete your account from the app
- Open the Minbar app on your iPhone or Android device.
- Sign in with the account you want to delete, if you are not signed in already.
- Tap the Profile icon, then open Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of Settings and tap Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation dialog and tap Delete Account a second time to confirm. This step cannot be undone.
Once confirmed, your account is anonymized immediately and you are signed out of every device. You will not receive any further emails or push notifications from Minbar.
If you can’t access the app
If you have lost access to the device or email address tied to your account, email support@minbar.one with the subject line “Delete my account”. Include enough detail for us to identify your account — for example, the email address you used to sign up and the name of a masjid you joined.
We will verify your identity and complete the deletion within 30 days, and usually within a few business days.
What gets deleted
- Your profile information: name, profile photo, phone number, and notification preferences.
- Your email address and your link to any sign-in provider (Google, Apple).
- Your membership in every masjid community you joined.
- Your device tokens, so push notifications stop immediately.
What is kept, and why
- Content you posted in community spaces. Announcements, events, group chat messages, and board posts that you contributed to a masjid’s community remain on that masjid’s account so the community’s history is not silently rewritten. Authorship on those items is changed to “Deleted User” and is no longer linked to you. Masjid admins can remove specific posts at your request.
- Anonymous Dua Board posts. If you posted anonymously, your post was never linked to your account in the first place, so there is nothing for us to remove. See the Privacy Policy for details.
- Billing and tax records (masjid admins only). We are required to retain invoices and payment receipts for as long as tax and accounting law require.
- Short-lived logs. Server logs that may reference your old account are automatically purged within about 90 days.
If you are a masjid admin
Deleting your personal Minbar account does not delete your masjid’s data, members, or subscription. Before deleting your account, transfer admin ownership to another admin from Settings › Admin Team, or contact us so we can help. If you want to delete the entire masjid, email support@minbar.one from the admin email on file.
